Brittney Carter Drops New Double Sided Single, Back Then ft. Alex Banin/The Signs

Chicago emcee Brittney Carter has had quite the 2019, releasing four singles and her first music video.  As well as being featured in such popular sites as Sway’s Universe, Chicago Reader, NPR, among several others, and playing several shows throughout the year.  As we reach the final month and a half or so of the year, the Chicago native looks to end the year on a high.  Releasing her third and latest double-sided single of the year with, Back Then/The Signs.  Two very jazzy smooth and laidback Nascent-produced tracks.  The first a very piano-laden backdrop featuring Alex Banin, that finds Carter giving such poetic and seamlessly amazing bars/lyrics rapping/singing, as she reminiscences about a love she used to have, “Back then.”  Which sounds very reminiscent of one of her main music influences, Lauryn Hill.  While the latter finds Brittney over a very drums driven backdrop giving off such flawless bars about the signs about a former boyfriend, who wasn’t right for her.  With her very flawless very poetic effortless bars, the Chicago emcee continues to show why she’s not only easily one of the best female emcees in all of Chicago right now, but one of the best female emcees in all of Hip-Hop right now.  Not to mention Brittney continues to show why it doesn’t matter, male or female, she’s also one of the best emcees in Chicago period right now.
