Amidst the constant reports of gun violence and shooting deaths in Chicago communities today Chicago Tribune was able to report that yesterday, 16 year old Chicago rapper Joseph Coleman aka Lil Jo was GUNNED DOWN in what police believe was a gang/hip hop related beef.

Lil Jo was a fairly unknown rapper here in Chicago, trying to make his way behind the meteoric rise of fellow Chicago artists Chief Keef and his GBE movement. Coiencidentally Lil Jo’s rival has been Lil Reese of the GBE imprint, another well known Chicago rapper which brings up the question seemed to be forgotten for years since the Biggie/Pac beef. When does rap get too REAL?

If you vomit inside a cab in Illinois, it’s going to cost you a $50 fee. This will cover just about what it’s going to cost the cab driver to clean away the bodily fluid. This “vomit ordinance” is just one of the new and somewhat weird laws that started on July 1st around the country.

According to the Christian Post, the lawmakers in Illinois passed a new law allowing the cab driver to charge this $50 clean-up fee if you throw-up in their cab. A night out on the town with a little bit too much alcohol aboard might have you owing the cab driver a fee, if you happen to blow lunch while in his cab.

First Lady Michelle Obama returned to her hometown Chicago Wednesday to help raise nearly $400,000 for the state’s Democratic congressional candidates and to cast her early votes for the Democrat seeking to fill her husband’s former Senate seat.

“I’m thrilled to be back in my hometown, Chicago,” she told a crowd of 200 donors at Chicago’s University Club attending a fundraiser for Democrat Alexi Giannoulias. “I get to sleep in my own bed tonight.”

Its very shocking to me to see that as the number of deaths and injuries rise due to gun violence in the city, this summer alone, the Supreme court would do such a thing. According to CNN this morning the Supreme Court has ruled unconstitutional Chicago, Illinois’ 28-year-old strict ban on handgun ownership, a potentially far-reaching case over the ability of state and local governments to enforce limits on weapons.

A 5-4 conservative majority of justices on Monday reiterated its two-year-old conclusion the Constitution gives individuals equal or greater power than states on the issue of possession of certain firearms for self-protection.
