Common & Pete Rock Debut Fun New True To The Core Video/Single, Wise Up, Reveal New Album Title

One of my most anticipated not only Hip-Hop album’s, but album’s across all of music here for 2024. Is legendary and iconic Chicago emcee Common’s collaboration album with legendary and iconic producer, Pete Rock.

An album that after much anticipation and talk we are finally getting our first taste of with their new single, Wise Up. A very boom-bap centered track that takes it true to the core essence of Hip-Hop with Common showing off his stellar rhymes over the classic break beat of Pete Rock.

The unexpected newly formed combo of two iconic Hip-Hop figures also debuting through Vevo an accompanying Marleaux Desiré-directed video for the track. Which sees Common and Pete in Hip-Hop’s mecca of New York City around various landmark’s in the city. As Common kicks his stellar true to the core rhymes such as, ”Youngin’s is restless. Investments in vestes. My man ain’t from Dallas, but he know where the tech’s is. Hold ’em. My poker face is golden. Pedigree of a legacy that’s stolen. Wise like the old man with food in his beard. And when he cries freedom. It’s jewels in his tears.” That so many true Hip-Hop heads, old, young and everything in between can relate to. Common and Pete Rock revealing at the end of the video that the album will be titled, The Auditorium Vol. 1
