Chicago’s Own BJ The Chicago Added To Lollapalooza Lineup, As Part Of New Dive Bar Series

Lollapalooza as it does a lot of years added some new things this year.  With one of them being the intimate new Bud Light Dive Bar Sessions.  Where performers do intimate performances at Bud Light’s Dive Bar Sessions.  The Dive Bar bringing the best of neighborhood staples, with cold beer, classic games, and live music for you and your crew to enjoy.

With three acts playing each of the four days, the most notable name set to play these small intimate new sessions though is Chicago’s very own Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter, BJ the Chicago Kid.  Fresh off the release of his highly-anticipated sophomore album, 1123, on the legendary Motown Records, just this past Friday July 26th, it makes perfect sense why BJ was one of the more notable names added, who I had originally pegged as a possible surprise guest performer in one of my Lollapalooza preview pieces.

Though it’s not any of the main performances, it’s nice to see BJ, who’s easily one of the not only best R&B/Soul artists, but artists across all music right now get some type of hometown recognition like this.  I’m sure he will be playing one of the main stages once or a few times over the course of his sure to be long career.  So this is just the beginning.

The full lineup can be seen below.  So get ready and Dive In!
