It may have taken her longer than some of her contemporaries, but female emcee, Rapsody, who has long been a staple of the underground Hip-Hop scene is finally starting to get her just due in the mainstream as well.
Whether it be because of her joint venture deal with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation her and her label boss, 9th Wonder of Jamla Records signed last year to form JamRoc or her skills, just finally getting the due recognition they deserve with her first major label release, Lala’s Wisdom this year, Rapsody is truly living up to her moniker. The mostly critically-acclaimed, sophomore album earning Rap her first solo rap nominee, as she’s nominated for Best Rap Album at next year’s 60th Grammy Awards with the likes of Jay and Kendrick Lamar, among others.
Something she learned while recently starting her current, Wisdom Is Power Tour. Which powered by Sean Healy Presents, is set to hit Reggies this coming Sunday for the Chicago stop of the tour. It’s definitely a show you don’t want to miss.
