Just last month, legendary Harlem group, The Diplomats, made a very triumphant return with their very soulful, The Heatmakerz-produced, Once Upon A Time. Bringing us that very triumphantly memorable soulful sound they gave us in the early to mid 2000’s, they also bring that to the new Kid Art-directed video as well. Which group member Jim Jones co-directed and helped really bring the record to life, which finds Cam’ron, Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zeekey on-screen together for the first time in almost a decade. Taken place in a church where there is a choir wearing pink bandanas and a Diplomats bat signal, among other things, the very triumphant new visual gives us that classic early to mid-2000’s feel we come to expect and love from Dipset. Which we here at The Hip Hop Democrat, very much approve and gots us even more hype for The Diplomats upcoming highly-anticipated comeback EP.
