Ravyn Lenae Debuts Cinematically Stunning New Video, For New Single, One Wish feat. Childish Gambino

Ravyn Lenae is sounding as great as she ever has on her amazing just brand new released single, One Wish featuring Childish Gambino. That follows her nearly three months ago released lead single, Love Me Not, off her highly-anticipated and long-awaited upcoming sophomore album, Bird’s Eye. Which is set to release a couple of weeks from today on Aug. 9th.

The brand new single a very soulfully groovy new record where Lenae over the piano-laden backdrop vulnerably sings about the complex relationship of love and forgiveness she has with her Dad. That started from her not wanting to forgive the trauma of the built-up upset emotions he caused her for missing her 10th birthday. Which she didn’t understand at the time, but more deeply does now.

The accompanying new Andre Muir-directed video which she premiered through Vevo showing this by it so cleverly playing out the story. Like an actual cinematically stunning mini-movie. As it shows a young girl that is supposed to be her riding with her Dad (which is her actual Dad) in a car and all the hope and promise of a good day. Before flashing to Ravyn in the current passenger side with friends having a great time getting ready to go and celebrate a birthday. While it then also goes back to the little 10-year-old version of herself being dropped off and left by her Dad on her birthday. As she tries to chase after him driving away. It flashing to a current version of herself again in the backseat watching out the window her younger self running as she sings the chorus. Ravyn is also then seen in her driver’s side seat of her car crying as her current man is trying to get back in the car from her letting him go and her complicated relationship with her Dad effecting how she treats a lot of her relationships she has with men. The visual then goes back to her younger self telling her Dad about the sun being in her eyes and him telling her about closing her eyes for everything to be alright. Her opening her eyes in the backseat to the current version of herself right before going back to the younger version of herself going to go inside and her Dad following behind to go in before he goes and takes off again. Then flashing to a current version of her again sitting in the passenger seat with her man on the driver side with her in almost tears. The visual then finally finding Ravyn on the passenger seat again this time by herself before she exits the seat to an empty field with friends as they all jump and play around in the field grass. The video eventually ending with her in a car at night with a boyfriend as she blows out a candle on a cupcake for her birthday and they kiss. Then showing Ravyn by herself riding off into the sunset with the younger version of herself in the back seat looking out the window. As to signal her showing her vulnerability by letting go of that emotionally sad part of her life.

The video really helping truly bring the record that much more to life by this amazingly stunning piece of art. That shows once again why Ravyn is one of the few artists left in music that is able to from her music to her visuals and the storytelling in her videos really truly put the ART in artist.
