It’s always a bit humorous that the annual Top 10 Hottest MC’s list sparks so much debate coming from a channel that essential plays no music minus a single Hip Hop countdown on Sundays. Regardless of just how much you agree or disagree with the final ranking, I think the true question remains. In the grand scheme of things, what does being recoginzed as “Hot” really mean? Clearly it opens up opportunity for more business, but in regards to longevity & creative appreciation does it really hold weight to be “hot”?

After pulling in $155 million in 1st weekend sales you would have thought that things were all well as it pertains to Hunger Games and the fans of the wildly successful book turned movie. Unfortunately, this is not the case at all. In the latest round of how ugly can America look, we get a series and online complaints via Facebook and Twitter towards the casting of Black actors in the film. In fact, to label these comments as mere complaints would be putting it lightly. We have here blatant racist outrage that a fictional character was not a particular ethnicity and actual admission to a lessened level of remorse for the death of a black child.

When things for still “Phat”, Street Fighter & Mortal Kombat reigned while gritty and graphic lyricists from all over were introducing the mainstream audience to another type of this Hip Hop. The 90′s feel so far off and it’s music like this that succeeds in taking us back to that time.

With the Cash Money having grown from the Southern counterpart to No limited to the hottest label in the game right now, I’ve perosnally wondered what the thoughts are of those that came up in the period of time. Cash Money was lyrically led by Juvenile riding on the strength of ”HA” and super producer Manny Fresh. No Limit flooded the game with album after album from the Master P collective.

On Sway in the Morning, No Limit’s first female artist Mia X chops it up on a few topics including her thoughts on the recent Cash Money roster addition of Mystikal.

After a scandal involving allegations of sexual misconduct against Julian Assange of Wikileaks and attacks against his journalistic integrity by the U.S. government after scores of U.S. government foreign policy e-mails were released by Wikileaks the firm was appearing to fade from the public view for awhile. However, with the re-emergence of Wikileaks in the news recently citizens of Syracuse want to know more about Julian Assange and Wikileaks. There are serious questions being raised about whether or not he has simply been the target of a slander campaign by the U.S. government and other governments which Wikileaks has leaked information about.

Tanzanian medical providers working in partnership with U.S. service members from Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa provided medical care to more than 2,100 Tanzanian women and children during a Medical Civil Action Program Jan. 9-13, 2012.

The five-day Medical Civil Action Program, or MEDCAP, was conducted in the villages of Mtimbwani, Duga Maforoni, Mwakajembe and Daluni in the Tanga region in northeast Tanzania in coordination with the Tanzania People’s Defence Force and local police.

“This is a very important exercise,” said Saumu Abdalha, a mother and a representative for women in the Mtimbwani community. “Health services are a bit limited in rural areas.”

Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Anarchist, Green Party, Tea Party, the list of options for one to politically align themselves seems endless. But this is part of the problem right? Who really believes all the things that these political factions define themselves as? I for one am closer to a Democrat than any of the other options. But I’m about as close as I am to being an astronaut. I believe in a lot of things that are pro-Democratic. I don’t mind a big government, as long as the size is not all in the military and nothing in social programs like education and healthcare. I am pro-choice as long as it is not used as birth control. I am for gun control and I believe we should make a conscious effort to go green.
