Two of the U.K.’s fasting rising stars, Jorja Smith and Stormzy join forces for Jorja’s very beautifully soulful and amazing new single, Let Me Down. A very soulful, almost live acoustic sounding record, which is by far one of the best released by the very talented and beautiful singer/songwriter, who’s star has continued to rise ten fold since her co-sign from Drake last year and after a big couple of past years, surprisingly looks to be on the verge of an even bigger 2018. This new record really letting Jorja show her very beautifully angelic and soothing voice, that’s by far one of the best I ever heard. As she sings about tough times in a relationship and is later joined with a nice guest verse from rising U.K. rapper, Stormzy.
After premiering the new record on Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Jorja spoke about how the collaboration came about. “Stormzy like floated into the room, like came on the track – it’s magic. He hit me up after “Blue Lights” and then, that was 2016, and then I was in the studio with Ed and he came through to the session, but I had already wrote the beginning of it and then we just left verse 2. Stormzy was so, so late. But it was cool because his verse made up for it and he is sick, it just made sense it and it worked.”
