World-renowned R&B/Pop superstar and hitmaker, as well as multi-Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter/producer/director and musician, Bruno Mars is getting ready to later today start on his very highly-anticipated, 24K Magic Tour. But before he does Bruno is yet again making history with his latest critically-acclaimed album, which the tour is named after, 24K Magic.
As just yesterday the RIAA certified the chart-topping album 2x Platinum. Giving Mars his third straight multi-platinum certified album and what was his highest debut on the charts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200. The album would remain in the top 10 of that chart for an impressive 33 weeks.
Maybe even more impressive though was Mars first two smash hit singles, 24K Magic and That’s What I Like, both being certified 4x Platinum and thus making him the only artist in the last year to have two 4X Multi-Platinum singles from the same album.
The records don’t stop there either. As those two singles continued wide ranging success puts Bruno among the biggest charts stars in history by tying him at present with Usher for the most #1 songs ever among male solo artists on Billboard’s, Radio Songs, chart. With each of his first three albums boasting a #1 song on the Hot 100, Bruno is also one of the few artists to have both written and produced every one of his #1 hits. Having a total of seven, Hot 100, chart-toppers he also has the Hot 100 #1’s amongst male artists for this decade.
If that wasn’t enough, Mars is also the fastest male soloist to earn his first five #1 singles since the late great legendary, Elvis Presley. Which is ironic since Bruno used to be an Elvis impersonator when he was younger and is now having his name in music chart history record books right next to him.
These new certifications and records continue what has already been a very hot summer for Mars too. Which has seen him win his first ever BET Award at the BET Awards just a couple months ago, by receiving the awards for Best R&B/Pop Male Artist and Video Of The Year for 24K Magic. While also receiving a very impressive four MTV Video Music Awards nominations for the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, which is set to air on MTV at the end of this month on Aug. 27th.
As Bruno continues to break and set new records and win even more awards to round out the end of this summer, you can also catch him on his current very popular 24K Magic Tour, which is almost assure to set its own records in attendance. Produced by Live Nation, you can catch the tour when it hits your city by going to the 24K Magic Tour homepage on Mars site here for remaining ticket availability.
