Lupe Fiasco Debuts New Video/Single, Cake

As we have switched from May to June, Lupe Fiasco’s highly-anticipated new album, Samurai, is getting even closer to its June 28th release. Having recently within the last month releasing the title track and its accompanying video. Lupe today releases the album’s newest Soundtrakk-produced single, Cake. That has Lu spitting such standout multi-syllable lyrics about cake as, “Ain’t no domino in my dominance when I’m dropping this. Janis Joplin droplets, it sound like the apocalypse. Mixed with Christopher Wallace’s topics on top an obelisk. It’s a Kabbalist novelist inside of my esophagus. Rhyme is prime and it’s Optimus. And this sh*t tastes like chocolate cake, cake.”

The legendary Chicago emcee also debuting through Vevo alongside the single an accompanying Chris & Blaq-directed video. Which sees him at an actual studio shooting the actual music video too. That shows fans, supporters and non-supporters a behind the scenes look at how a lot of actual music videos are actually shot and brought to life by most artists with directors and a lot of the behind the scenes teams.
