Ab-Soul Releases Highly-Anticipated & Long-Awaited New Album, Herbert, Debuts New Video, FOMF

At long last, Ab-Soul has finally released his highly-anticipated and long-awaited newest album, Herbert. Becoming the third of his current or former Top Dawg Entertainment labelmates to finally release their latest solo album in five year’s or longer. As Kendrick Lamar released his first album in a little over five year’s with, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Back in May. Right before SZA released her first album in a little over five year’s with, SOS, just last week.

Soulo’s newest album is 18 tracks and said to be some of his most personal work to date. According to a press release that also says, ”Herbert is a deliberately intimate portrait of the man behind Ab-Soul going back to his foundation, as noted by the name of the record, leaving the conspiracy theories he’s known for behind while emphasizing his musicality.” The album itself features previously released singles, Do Better featuring his labelmate, Zacari, and the Fre$h-assisted Gang’Nem. As well as Hollandaise and Moonshooter.

Herbert also has features from the likes of his TDE labelmates, Punch, SiR and Lance Skiiiwalker and Zacari. As well as outside features from the likes of Joey Bada$$, Jhené Aiko, Big Sean, Ambré, Russ and Alemeda.

To celebrate and coincide with the album’s release. Ab also debuted a new Omar Jones and Onda co-directed video for, FOMF. That sees the Carson, California-based emcee on a baseball field with his TDE labelmates by his side and fans in the stands turning up for the fun and energetic track. Which is brought to life even more by the just as fun and energetic video.
