J.I.D Educates Fans/Supporters With New Video/Single, Skegee

Dreamville Records and Spillage Village rep, J.I.D educates his fans/supporters and the masses on his new Christo-produced single, Skegee. That he released today along with the Waboosh-directed accompanying video.

An abbreviation for the historical black university in Tuskegee, Alabama. That recruited J.I.D to go there for football during his high school football playing days. The new black and white visual was shot in Tuskegee and finds the Atlanta emcee rapping and dropping knowledge about the history of the historical black university. As J.I.D raps about not only the school, but city’s history and of course the infamous and dehumanizing, Tuskegee Experiment. Which is why so many of the black and inner city communities still have such a distrust with government till this very day.

J.I.D himself releasing this statement on his Instagram about the video/single, “I remember my dad always preaching black history to me, anytime anyplace anywhere we went he made me question everything, this song is a lesson I learned a long time ago and felt necessary to use my platform to spread the knowledge of the history of our people in this country, it is not a slight at anyone, it’s a moment of reflection. Thank u @waboosh@benjididit Bobbi, Cale, Christo and everyone who brought this vision to life🕊🖤”
