Over the 4th of July weekend the Fox News political Twitter page  posted some disturbing  tweets regarding our President. Now one may argue if this is was really the work of hackers or a strategically planned release. Not beings a conspiracy theorist, only considering the rhetoric that the Fox political system currently promotes, combined with the “anything for ratings” attitude would not put that idea completely out of reach.

As the story is told, Hackers broke into the FoxNewsPolitics account early Monday, leaving a series of six tweets reporting that Obama had been shot to death in Iowa and the shooter was unknown.

The second part of The Daily Beast‘s interviewwith Fox News president Roger Ailes is out today, and Ailes’ encore doesn’t disappoint.

He responded harshly to Jon Stewart’s pervasive criticism of cable news and had some tough, tough words for NPR.

Stewart, of course, is a vocal critic of hyper-partisan cable news. At his Rally To Restore Sanity And/Or Fear in October, he rebuked the media, saying, “If we amplify everything, we hear nothing. Not being able to distinguish between real racists and Tea Partiers or real bigots and Juan Williams and Rick Sanchez is an insult, not only to those people but to the racists themselves who have put in the exhausting effort it takes to hate.”

In a feat of Olympian hypocrisy, Fox News has filed a lawsuit  against Robin Carnahan, the Democratic candidate for senate in Missouri. The network that regularly rails against the excess of litigiousness in American society, is alleging that Carnahan’s ad infringes on their proprietary property.

The ad in question has been temporarily removed from Carnahan’s web site, and YouTube as well, but you can still view it here. The offending content was a clip of Carnahan’s opponent, Roy Blunt, in a 2006 interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. Wallace is seen asking whether Blunt is the right man to “clean up the House” given his financial ties to convicted felon Jack Abramoff, and his efforts on behalf of the tobacco industry despite his romantic relationship with a tobacco lobbyist.

Fox News promos often tout the network as “The Most Powerful Name In News.” Now that power extends into the supernatural as FoxNews.com is caught publishing a story reviewing Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington, DC, the day before it takes place. This demonstration of journalistic clairvoyance may just be a part of the “miraculous” occurrences that Beck promised would take place at tomorrow’s historic event. However, despite the obvious scoop that Fox could claim with this pre-porting, the story was quickly removed from the site.

The parent company of the Fox News Channel has donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association and helped the GOP group more than double its fundraising in the second quarter of the year. The RGA helps elect Republican gubernatorial candidates. Government filings show that it raised more than $19 million during the second quarter, compared to more than $9 million in the first quarter.

The parent company of Fox News, News America Inc., is a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s media conglomerate News Corp.

The RGA received $1 million from David Koch (COKE) of Wichita-based Koch Industries. Koch is a longtime supporter of conservative causes.

So besides the few times I’ve glanced at the unchangable monitors in the doctors office, or at the gym, I can honestly say I very rarely watch Fox news under my own control. Well, I guess I’m not the only one.  According to Nielsen Media Research, Fox News has averaged just 29,000 black viewers in primetime so far this television season (9/09-7/10). It’s probably safe to say a majority of those  29k are those just like me forced to watch it, or the family members of Fox’s limited  African-American reporting staff.

Last weekend Glenn Beck revealed that he has been diagnosed with a serious eye disease which may cause him to go blind.  According to Beck he has had trouble seeing in recent months which caused him to go the Lenscrafters.  There a technician told him he may be going blind.  At that point Beck went to the best eye doctor he could find where he was diagnosed with a condition called macular dystrophy.  A detailed description of macular dystrophy can be read here.  Beck also slipped in a political jab toward health care reform in the speech, hinting he may not be able to go to the best doctor in the future.

Sarah Palin will premier her first full television show on Fox News tommorrow.  The show will be called “Real American Stories” and feature “uplifting tales about overcoming adversity.”  However there is one uplifting story that will be curiously absent.

Earlier Fox News had said that rapper LL Cool J would appear on Palin’s show.  The press release made it seem as though the rapper was personally going on television for Sarah Palin for a friendly interview.  As an African-American rapper LL Cool J would presumably add some diversity to the show which also featured country singer Toby Keith and General Electric CEO Jack Welch.  Instead it was revealed by LL Cool J himself that the interview in question had been taped in 2008 and not with Sarah Palin.  On Twitter the rapper complained that Fox News was “misrepresenting” the interview in order to promote Palin’s show.

Don Imus, his show now back on television courtesy of Fox cable, has been showing that he knows how to return a favor to Fox for putting him on the air, by becoming a conservative sycophant.

To show how far he’s sunk in pleasing his current meal ticket, he’s joined the Barrack “Hussein” Obama, crowd, using Obama’s middle name from time to time, the ploy conservatives use hoping that with the dumber segment of their audience they can try and convince them that not only was Obama born in Kenya but he is also secretly Sadaam Hussein’s illigitimate son.
