Ice Cube and Scarface ain’t trying to act their age in the just released hilarious new video for, Act My Age. One of the most standout tracks from Cube’s latest critically-acclaimed solo album, Man Up. The two Hip-Hop icons and pioneers debuting the new DJ Pooh-directed video for the track earlier today.
The hilarious new video opening like a black family sitcom with one couple getting ready to leave out on a date without trying to let their twin babies, played by Ice Cube and Scarface, who are in a crib, knowing. Their babysitting friends couple trying to play with the babies after they leave, but the babies just throwing things out the crib at the them. The thumping beat intro playing as it then pans to Ice Cube and Scarface over a white backdrop as Cube starts to rap the catchy chorus about not acting their age. Before then going into his standout verses about acting a fool and not his age, as well as about how him, Face and the rest of the old school don’t play by the new rules on the mic as lyricist’s, emcees, performers and just in general versus the new school way of a lot of things. The video also showing the baby sitting couple just give up and sit down on the couch, as Ice Cube and Scarface in their baby outfits hilariously hop out the crib and steal money and take off out the house. Getting into a fight with a gang in an alleyway they then get arrested. They are taking to be ID’ed at the police station with a couple of fellow Westcoast legends, WC and Big Tray Dee making cameos in the police lineup of witnesses. As Scarface starts to rap his standout verses of, “I don’t give a fvck where you from, n***a. Take your ass back if you love it that much (Yeah). If not, shut the fvck up (Haha). You n***as ain’t built no different (Nah). You talk that shit and don’t listen (What’s the mission?). We can all act ign’ant, bring the guns out. I’m a vampire when the sun’s out. I’m from the streets, I got to act that way. Steady fvcking with me, telling me to act my age. Back up out my face, I ain’t like these dudes. Not finna fight this n***a, I’m ’bout to light this fuse. The fvck they thought? I was just gon’ talk? Let that ho shit slide? Now that ain’t my style.” The video bringing the already very standout new single and track from two of Hip-Hop’s greatest emcees and lyricist’s to life even more in a hilarious way that only someone like DJ Pooh directing it could to make you love an already great track and fan favorite collaboration. That much more.
