Today rising great emcee, Reuben Vincent, debuted through Vevo his nostalgically heartwarming new video for his new banger, JUST 4 ME. Which he co-directed with Malik “Squid” Gist and comes just days after releasing some of his most personal and introspective music to date as well as easily his most highly-anticipated work to date in, WELCOME HOME. A collaboration album with Reuben’s longtime mentor and friend, as well as founder of his longtime label home, Jamla Records. GRAMMYs-Award winning producer, 9th Wonder. Released through JamRoc and Jamla’s distribution deal with Roc Nation Records they entered into 2016 to release all future projects from Rapsody and Reuben Vincent.
The new video for the track that features SWEATA and Jourden Cox, already the sixth one from the new 16-track album. That includes previously already released standout singles HOMECOMING, DRE & SIDNEY featuring SWEATA & Raheem DeVaughn, QUEEN CITY and GOTTA GET IT. JUST 4 ME being one of the most standout tracks from the new album from Reuben Vincent & 9th Wonder too.
The nostalgically heartwarming new Reuben Vincent & 9th Wonder video for the track opening by picking up where his video for DRE & SIDNEY left off. By yet again recreating a few classic scenes from the classic 2002 Hip-Hop romantic comedy, Brown Sugar, with Reuben and Nyla Symone playing the roles of Dre and Sidney. As Reuben is picked up by an Uber driver played by the legendary Taye Diggs, who is now playing the legendary Mos Def acted taxi driver character, Cavi, and when he asks Taye to turn on the radio and up to Hip-Hop station Power 105 and turn he goes crazy when he realizes Nyla has said, “I really love this next record. I am going to dedicate it to Hip-Hop. It is called, ‘Dre and Sidney’. Realizing she is talking about him Taye tells Reuben, “Oh you know what you need to go get her. Here. Give her this.” Reuben Vincent calling the station as he goes up to Power 105 with Angie Martinez answering and going to the phone lines as he asks Nyla when is the last time she fell in love with Hip-Hop and she mistakingly heard the question wrong and saying when she first heard Common’s forever timeless dedication to Hip-Hop, I Used to Love H.E.R. Is when she first fell in love with Hip-Hop. Reuben asking her again the actual question and Nyla answering, “The last time I feel In love with Hip-Hop is when I first met you.” Reuben saying how much he loved her since the first time he, “laid eyes” on her and then asking her, “Now my question is, ‘Today on October 24th. Will you officially be mine?” And her blushingly answering, “Yes.” When Reuben gets to the window of the station holding up a loss leaf piece of paper that reads, “Will you go out with me?” With boxes also to check for, Yes, No or Maybe. Angie Martinez then going to the radio to play Reuben Vincent & 9th Wonder’s newest single, JUST 4 ME. As it goes to the actual nostalgically heartwarming video for the record.
The nostalgically heartwarming feel-good Reuben Vincent & 9th Wonder video seeing Ryan Witherspoon hopping out of a fancy green car that Reuben is leaning on as he overlooks Nyla walking with her friends down the block. While he raps his feel-good honest lyrics about how much he loves her for the absolute jam of a record. With SWEATA joining Reuben in the hallways of an apartment building as he sings the very nostalgically feel-good hook. Jourden Cox then joining Reuben and SWEATA on the rooftop of the building as she raps her very poetic-centered standout guest verse on the track. The nostalgic feel-good vibes of the record brought even more to life through the cinematically just as nostalgically heartwarming feel-good video.
