Joey Bada$$ Debuts Cinematic New Video/Single, DARK AURA

Joey Bada$$ recently announced the long-awaited release of his newest album, Lonely at the Top. That is set to finally be released a week from this Friday on Aug. 29th. Joey releasing the album’s latest single today with the Chuck Strangers-produced, DARK AURA. A very motivational and inspiring track that has him delivering such standout bars as, “Please  don’t push me, I’m too close to the edge. Gotta know the ledge, knowledge is power. That’s what my OG said. Get your bread, don’t be misled, you know these streets is dead. Gotta stay a few steps ahead, keep the family fed. Life is hard, hold your head, never let them see you sweat. Every loss is a lesson, that’s the secret of success. Can’t forget to count your blessings, gotta keep your soul in check. I give it all I got until it’s nothin’ left, that’s why they gotta show respect. Payin’ all my dues and debts. Livin’ life with no regrets, never take kindly to threats. I don’t even take offense if it ain’t directly addressed. They try to push my buttons, I ain’t even pressed. Gotta stay stuntin’, know my light can never be suppressed.”

If that wasn’t enough Joey Bada$$ also debuting earlier today through Vevo, a very cinematic new Waqas Ghani-directed accompanying video for the track. Which opens with Joey at a mansion getting dappered up and ready in his suit and tie to go to a formal event at New York’s storied jazz club, Blue Note NYC. Watching his real life wife, Serayah, perform. Joey also shown on his street ish he came from underneath an empty underpassage for train tracks. As well as several other really great shots from Ghani of the NY-bred emcee in the forest, other dark Graffiti tagged areas and the mansion. As Joey Bada$$ raps the very inspiring and motivational bars that are brought even more to life by showing how far he is from where he was at the beginning of his career up until now. His flow still as top notch as ever and showing why so many are really anticipating his new album so much too.
