Nearly a month and a half after Japanese emcee and rapper, Awich, delivered her out of nowhere great all RZA-produced album, Okinawan Wuman. That quietly sneaked into mine and many others Top Hip-Hop albums of the year list. She returns to the album today ironically enough after I have had in a pretty heavy rotation lately.
As earlier today Awich debuted the cinematic new Hideto Hotta-directed video for the album’s standout closing track, Wax On Wax Off Japan Remix. That features R-指定 (R-Shitei), NENE, 鎮座DOPENESS and C.O.S.A. Which sees all four Japanese emcees alongside Awich at the outside and inside of a dojo setting. As they spit their razor sharp lyrics for these very stellar Japanese remix of the original FERG & Lupe Fiasco featured original RZA-produced track.
