Almost exactly two weeks after Evidence dropped his latest highly-anticipated and critically-acclaimed solo album, Unlearning Vol. 2. He returns to said album today by debuting just a few short hours ago, a new Stephen Vanasco-directed accompanying video for arguably the album’s best track, Seeing Double. That is already the seventh track of 15 from the album to get an accompanying visual.
The new video a very cinematic one that is perfectly shot and sees Evidence by himself on top of train tracks in an empty field of train tracks that lead to an underground tunnel. Evidence also seen on top of the overhead bridge of the tunnel overlooking a train going by. As he raps with his smooth and timeless flow, his just as timelessly smooth uncut real bars from the track that is one of those tracks you know is just a straight up instantly timeless classic track as soon as you hear the first note and smooth soulful sample before Evidence starts rapping. Such simple, yet standout bars as, “I’m not here for a seal of approval. My name is in permanent paint with no removal. I’m about to tell em that they should get to stepping. I’m here to feed my bubble, if not, I get the weapon. I’m getting what I need and greed’ll lead to trouble. That leads to the kid stressed out and seeing double. Nothing came from being subtle. I’m a leader, nothing came about from being humble. Listen, whether or not the plot twisted. Basket for bread like chopped kitchen. My arm hurt, too many curves, I stopped pitching. This is the time I started smoking weed and got distant. Everything I talk is not fiction. I make photographs, Rule of Thirds and crop pictures. Checking for work, I do construction. Every time I disappear it’s through production.”
