Kurupt & DJ Battlecat Deliver Feel-Good New Video/Single, Special feat. JANE HANDCOCK & Blaqthoven

Death Row Records has gone through a pretty big revival since Snoop Dogg purchased the historic record company in 2022. Putting out several albums and/or new projects from Snoop and such legendary artists from the label as Tha Dogg Pound and Tha Eastsidaz, while also introducing a new generation of artists such as October London, Charlie Bereal and JANE HANDCOCK. Well now Snoop has decided to return with new solo work from one of the very first Death Row inmates, Kurupt. Who along with the also legendary, DJ Battlecat, just yesterday released his very first newest single through the label in nearly 20 years with, Special featuring JANE HANDCOCK and Blaqthoven. A very G-Funk-influenced feel-good Summer-ready record that everyone should love and can C-Walk and groove to.

Kurupt having the following to say in a statement about his triumphant return new single and working with HANDCOCK, “Working with JANE HANDCOCK is like a breath of fresh air because her voice is astronomical… just phenomenal. But her arrangements are just — wow. It’s like watching a master painter paint the picture. Picasso is in the room. You are there in the room. You are a fly on the wall. And Picasso is painting the picture. You watched it get painted — it’s just a breath of fresh air. It’s like, wow, being a piece of history. She’s a great. So it just makes you feel great just to be in the room with her as she works. She’s one of a kind.”

HANDCOCK, who was recently crowned the new, First Lady of Death Row also adding in a statement what it was like for her working with such a legendary Westcoast Hip-Hop icon as Kurupt. “When Kurupt & Battlecat call, I’m on the way every time! ‘Special’ is exactly what the title is, SPECIAL.”

If that wasn’t enough Kurupt also debuted yesterday through Vevo, a brand fun and feel-good Dah Dah and Bigg Snoop Dogg co-directed accompanying video for the DJ Battlecat-produced new single. Which sees Kurupt performing the record and along with Snoop enjoying and having a great time meeting fans at the S.W.E.D. dispensary store in their hometown of Los Angeles. Kurupt at certain points of the video also recreating some of his iconic moments from his career such as when he kneeled in front of his Cadillac. The new visual an overall fun and feel-good vibe that brings the real feel-good Summertime G-Funk vibes of the single even more to life.
