Fresh off his surprise appearance in Ryan Coogler’s box office smash hit, critically-acclaimed movie, Sinners, multi-GRAMMYs award winning legendary Chicago-bred blues icon, Buddy Guy, returns with the announcement of his newest album, Ain’t Done With The Blues. Which is scheduled to be released on his 89th birthday of July 30th. Buddy releasing lead single, How Blues Is That, along with the announcement. Which features legendary Eagles’ guitarist, Joe Walsh and is co-written with Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter Tom Hambridge and Richard Fleming.

One of the last surviving members of the golden age of the blues that laid the foundation for much of today’s modern R&B and Hip-Hop. The new record is a very funky one that finds Buddy singing about his life’s journey to get from the backwoods of the South to his current longtime home of Chicago. As well as all the struggles he went through barely making it before he became the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame living legend and icon he is. McNelley’s slick electric guitar and growing tickles of McKendree’s piano chords the perfect tandem to Guy’s lyrics and own guitar playing. Walsh’s own guitar playing and singing of how he got to where he is the perfect complement to Buddy to make this such a real blues classic that should get plenty of love from longtime lovers and listeners of Buddy and the blues to new fans as well. No matter if it gets any radio play or not.

Buddy himself in a statement he released on how the album and his appearance in Sinners alluding to that being one of the reasons why. Having the following to say, “They don’t play blues on your radio anymore like they used to on the big AM/FM stations. So things like the movie, or performing out on the road, or making a new record, it’s important because some young people might see it or hear it and say, “Oh, I got to know more about that.”’
