NPR Music debuting Amerie’s long-awaited first performance with the platform earlier today. That was one of the more joyfully fun, warming and enthusiastically entertaining and engaging ones they have had. As Amerie accompanied by go-go legends Backyard Band instantly warmed the mood with her infectiously beautiful smile and joyfully enthusiastic energy for her just a little over 18-minutes set. That started off slowly easing in with her single, Talkin’ to Me before going into quintessential Summer hit anthem, Why Don’t We Fall in Love and then introducing Backyard Band before going into a beautifully amazing rendition of her romantic new ballad, Mine. Then delivering fan favorite, I Just Died and such a beautifully amazing upbeat great new rendition of, Rolling Down My Face, that everyone will be fiending to have their own copy of. Amerie in true full on energetic dance move by the time she goes into, Talkin’ About and really getting the Tiny Desk staff and everyone else in the office into full on celebratory dance mood by the time she closes out with her forever timeless hit single, 1 Thing.
