Lollapalooza 2024 Can’t Miss Performer, Victoria Monét

One of the most talented and creative singer and songwriters, as well as artists of her generation. Victoria Monét has come a long way from being in the background songwriting for some of the biggest names in all of music that ranges from T.I. to Nas, Chris Brown, Brandy, Arianna Grande and Chloe x Halle. Earning three GRAMMYs of seven nominations at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards earlier this year for her critically-acclaimed debut album, JAGUAR II., she released last August. Monét has come a long way from her underdog beginnings and why I think everyone from fans to so many of her peers can relate to and are so inspired by how far she has come and grown as an artist since first starting her solo career over a decade ago.

Little known, but great records like Freak, Ready and New Love. Records that first really showed her talents as not only a great singer and songwriter, but their videos showing her great yet still underappreciated abilities as a dancer. Not to mention also showing off Monét’s playfully fun and vibrant side, as well as first showing off her inspiration for a lot of classic 90’s R&B she and so many of us grew up on and love so much. But it was her very sensually, sexy and seductive lust-filled 2020 single, Moment, along with its just as sensually, sexy, seductive and lust-filled, yet beautiful accompanying video that truly set things in motion. For Monét to finally start getting her just due as not only one of the best pure singer, songwriters and artists in all of music right now. But also one of the most beautiful women in the world period.

This Jaguar era having Monét getting recognized and praised from everyone from such icons and some of her biggest inspirations. Such as Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, and Kelly Rowland. Not to mention just a few weeks ago performing as part of one of the biggest and most talked about parts of the BET Awards recent tribute to Usher for getting the Lifetime Achievement Award. With Teyana Taylor and Monét’s very impressive recreation of Beyoncé and Usher’s classic performance of, Bad Girl, nearly 20 year’s ago at the 2004 BET Awards.

Speaking of 20 year’s too. It is only right that almost a year after releasing her album that the very talented singer and songwriter is getting her continued moment in the spotlight by being set to play the T-Mobile Stage at Lollapalooza as one of the most anticipated sets of the festival’s upcoming 20th Anniversary here in Chicago. That is also among the most anticipated debut performances at the festival since fellow great singer and songwriter, Tinashe, made her debut Lollapalooza performance just a little under a couple of year’s ago herself. Which is also why we have chosen Victoria Monét. As our personal pick for can’t miss performer at this year’s Lollapalooza you wouldn’t want to miss.
