On this newest Wu-Wednesday, RZA as Bobby Digital drops his newest single, Pugilism. Off his very much anticipated next solo album, Bobby Digital: Digital Potions. That is expected to drop sometime this year and is his forth album under the Bobby Digital moniker. It’s also a followup to his beloved and what most consider classic, 1998 debut solo album, Bobby Digital In Stereo.
The new track, which also serves as the first single from the album. Is also the first time in 13 years he has released something under his Bobby Digital alias and finds the Wu-Tang Clan leader, as well as co-founder. Delivering his usual razor sharp rhymes over the very piano-laden and Kung Fu flick soundbites sample heavy produced backdrop. That we usually expect from most Wu-Tang related releases.
In conjunction with the release. RZA also announced today the launch of his new Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater from his 36 Cinema. That will kickoff this Saturday, April 24th with a screening of the 1978 Shaw Brothers classic film, Heroes Of The East. Which will be co-hosted with RZA by Dan Halsted. It’s also the relaunch of 36 Cinema, which RZA launched last year during the onset of the pandemic. A first-of-its-kind film screening platform through his company, 36 Chambers. RZA will share further details about the album during Saturday’s screening.
