Rapsody is one of the most talented emcees, male or female in Hip-Hop right now. Garnering praise and accolades from the likes of the Recording Academy with her two GRAMMYS nominations earlier this year, to critics and her peers alike. The talented wordsmith recently put out her latest critically-acclaimed solo album, EVE, just a few weeks ago and has not only wowed fans and critics alike, but Vevo as well.
So it should be no surprise that Rapsody is the latest to be apart of Vevo’s latest new original live series, Ctrl. Both Vevo and the talented and thought-provoking writer debuting/premiering just about a little over a couple hours ago, the very purely fire, Ctrl Live Session, performance of one of the most standout tracks from the album, Serena.
The album, EVE, which is named after the Bible’s original woman, a celebration and empowerment by Rapsody of all women of color worldwide. Just like, Serena, each song titled after a legendary black female, ranging from music legends to poets, athletes, Egyptian figures and cultural icons that have inspired Rapsody through the years. Which she also wants to shed light on for those who don’t know. Her new live performance with Vevo of the track dedicated to living Tennis and athletic legend, Serena Williams, getting a very stellar boost with this amazing and infectious live performance that shows what a force Rapsody is not only in Hip-Hop, but music as a whole right now.
