Royce Da 5’9″ along with Hip-Hop heavyweights Pusha T, Jadakiss and Fabolous, as well as Agent Sasco bring the fiery summer heat, to their street banger, Summer On Lock. One of the more standout tracks from Royce’s mostly critically-acclaimed latest solo album, Book of Ryan. It finds Nickel and crew showcasing their fiery individual styles in the streets and in an abandoned warehouse, in a very greatly edited to perfection and greatly cinematically captured Walu-directed video, which was premiered through Vevo just earlier today. Bringing the summer heat to the desert and cold bars to the wintry mountains in the very ridiculous amazing clip, which is very reminiscent of the very great iconic Hype Williams-directed mega videos of the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Royce along with Walu, as well as his heavyweight features really truly help bring the record to life like those timeless and iconic videos from Puff Daddy, Nas, the late, The Notorious B.I.G. and several others from that great era. Especially with the way this visual is so cinematically captured so greatly. You have to watch and see it to believe it, this is easily one of the best videos of the year.
