Pac Div Drop New Westcoast Banger, With Newest Single, Stoked

Fans were already stoked for the return of Westcoast trio and New West pioneers, Pac Div.  While now a week after the group of Like, Mibbs and BeYoung dropped their comeback single, First Baptist and announced their highly-anticipated third album of the same name.

They have revealed the albums cover and tracklisting, which surprisingly wouldn’t feature the title track they released last week.  The short 10-track effort, which is now set for an April 13th release, will feature their just earlier premiered today through XXL new single, Stoked, though.

The new Like-produced Westcoast banger finding the trio giving their signature Westcoast flavor of back and forth bars over the slow, heavy bass-filled instrumental.  It also finds them switching so effortlessly between slow and fast flows.  A style that a lot Westcoast emcees such as ScHoolboy Q, Horseshoe Gang and several others have come with since the group’s last effort in 2012.

Which is why I would definitely love to see a remix with the likes of Q and/or Horseshoe.

The record itself is inspired by that dope time you have when you’re out with your guys.  Mibbs telling XXL, “The inspiration for the song has to do with the familiar feeling of being out with your boys at a dope event with some money on your pocket enough not to be broke.”  BeYoung adding, “Stoked means being fully charged up for a good time.”

You can listen to the dope new single below and look for Pac Div’s highly-anticipated new album, as already previously mentioned in two and a half more weeks on April 13th.  Which is a big day for highly-anticipated Westcoast releases.  As very talented singer/songwriter and fellow L.A. native, Tinashe’s long delayed sophomore album, Joyride, was also recently announced to be dropping then.
