August Greene, the supergroup comprised of Common, Robert Glasper and Karriem Riggins, is less than a month away from dropping their collaborative debut album on March 9th and only weeks after giving us the very amazing lead single, Optimistic featuring Brandy, today they give us the next single, Black Kennedy. A very beautifully soulful and poetic record, which sees Common spitting poetics about what it would be like to be a “Black Kennedy.”
The Chicago emcee, who’s celebrating 25+ years in Hip-Hop having the following to say in a statement about the record. “From many people the Kennedy family symbolizes royalty and represents power, style, and influence. And I thought if I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna do it in a Black way.”
