Tinashe is back at it again. Not even a full month after her recent single, No Drama featuring Offset and its very incredible accompanying video and shortly after teasing three new singles at the beginning of the year in the previously aforementioned single, Faded Love and Me So Bad. The very talented and beautiful singer/songwriter drops the Future assisted, Faded Love. Her second single of 2018 in as many months, it looks like we will finally be getting Tinashe’s long-delayed and highly-anticipated sophomore album, Joyride, sometime this year. Her newest single, Faded Love, she premiered earlier today via Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, looking like it has real hit potential with its very addictive, hypnotic, summer feel-good type vibes. The new record finding Tinashe over the very addictive, hypnotic, raggae-tinged, feel-good Stargate production singing about her great time with a lover. Her seductive and alluring addictive vocals really standing out, on the record, which has those hypnotic Caribbean, feel-good summer type vibes that make you just want to escape and dance on an island with your lover. I could definitely see a really great visual on a Caribbean island with some really great choreographed dance scenes being made to really truly bring this record to life. The only real complaint I have about the record is that I could’ve did without the Future feature and if she featured a rapper, that Drake, A$AP Rocky or a few others could’ve been more properly suited.
Tinashe had the following to say to Beats 1 about the new record and why she had Future on it. “Future’s on my first album and that was one of my favorite songs on the first album, but I felt like it was pretty underrated. So I was like, ‘It would be perfect to have him back again.’ I thought this song was really an interesting song to put him on because it was a little bit more unexpected, a little bit more muted, and not necessarily like a trap music, or something that would be obvious. It’s kind of a new flavor.”
After listening to the song several times today, I agree it’s definitely a new flavor of sound that’s perfect for a cold February day like today, too. As the addictively, hypnotic, Caribbean island, Raggae-tinged, feel-good Summer vibes will definitely get you in that feel-good mood for Summer to come soon, as most of us, are really longing for on cold Winter days like today.
