Raekwon & Ghostface Killah Announce ‘The Purple Tape Files’ Documentary

It’s hard to believe how fast the time goes by, but this is yet another reminder.  As Raekwon’s classic debut solo album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx will be celebrating 20 years since it has been released this year.  Rae plans to do it in grand fashion too, as he and his partner for most of the album and fellow Wu-Tang Clan member, Ghostface Killah, just announced over the weekend at the famed Sundance Film Festival their surpise project.  A documentary film, The Purple Tape Files, which they will be releasing in celebration of the iconic albums 20th anniversary and which the film will obviously be based on.  A trailer for the film was also premiered over the weekend by both members to go along with the announcement of the film.  For those who want to contribute The Chef and GFK have also setup a site, ThePurpleTapeFiles.com, where fans can fund money to the project in exchange for exclusive perks such as behind-the-scenes access and merchandise.
