Oscar winning filmmaker James Cameron to help stop the oil spill

Oscar winning filmmaker James Cameron has joined a task force to try and help contain the stop the leak in the Gulf of Mexico.

most recent popularity came from the movie Avatar, but he is most well known for his work on Titanic.  This showed off his expertise in technology and knowledge of the ocean.

Cameron met with experts and federal officials on Tuesday as the boffins attempted to come up with a quick fix for the massive environmental disaster.

The 55-year-old filmmaker is not the only celebrity involved with the oil spill solution – Kevin Costner is in the Gulf promoting new oil-filtering technology created by his brother and ‘The Usual Suspects’ star Stephen Baldwin is shooting a documentary about the clean-up efforts.
