Well within a time span of 45seconds Chicago’s hopes and dreams of hosting the Olympics have been crushed. Chicago which was considered to be one of the favorites for the 2016 Olympic games was the first city eliminated from competition.
Just thinking about the Millions of dollars lost, trying to “convince” this committee to have the games here, and how that money could have been put to better use. Also Im thinking how millions of Chicago citizens will look at this as a great defeat, instead of realizing that there are bigger fights that we need to focus our attention on. I cant help but wonder if all the violence heavily publicized didn’t help either.
One thing I do know is that there will be some good from the money spent. The discussions that have come from the Olympic debate will help shape new ordinances and help bring resolution to a lot of problems. But, theres always Chicago2032!!!!
