This week starts off with new music off RZA’s The Man With The Iron fist OST. Set to drop on Oct 23, Ghostface links with MOP and Pharoahe Monche for this lyrical fire.

Ol’ Dirty Bastard will go down as one of the most unique figures in the history of Hip Hop. In an attempt to capture some of the essence of ODB’s life and share his story with the people, individuals closest to him are hard at work on a couple biopics on the last MC.
Yesterday was a great day for the loyal Wu Tang fan base. Ghostface Killah announced a new LP Twelve to Reason to Die which will be released on Nov 12. Adding to the buzz the people received an insane Wally Champ verse on the G.O.O.D music “New God Flow”. If this is an appetizer then Ghost is about to serve the crowd a real feast.
While Jay-Z was rocking Philly for the “Made In America” festival during their two-day festival series over the weekend, Rock The Bells was rocking in Holmdel, New Jersey‘s PNC Bank Arts Center durig the same two-day stretch (September 1-2).
Despite some of the acts not showing up that were supposed to, such as Watsky, ScHoolboy Q, Tyga, Big Sean, Tinie Tempah and Pusha T, the day turned out great. Rumor has it that some of those mentioned no shows were in Philly at that other festival. Oh well, their loss because the energy and vibe in NJ was all love. No drama, no fights, nothing…beautiful thing to see at a hip-hop show. Saturday’s line up started off with Yo Gabba Gabba’s resident DJ, DJ Lance Rock and Friends on the 1′s and 2′s. Biz Markie graced the stage with him to get the crowd ready for the rest of the day’s acts.

Raekwon’s new album Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang dukes it out on March 8th. But today, he rolls out the final version of his next single with DJ Khalil on the track. Pardon the auto-tune, but this still rocks.

The third stop on the 2010 Rock the Bells tour took place at Governors Island in New York City. I was lucky enough to be in attendance and watch some of Hip-Hop’s elite perform their classics in the birth place of rap music–the Big Apple.
Due to issues beyond my control I never got to see DJ Premier or Slick Rick perform which was a major disappointment. However, thanks to Guerilla Union’s head honcho Chang Weisberg I was given the best seat in the house to watch Rakim perform his 1987 classic Paid in Full.
