NAACP Offering Resolution Condemning Racism in the Tea Party Movement

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will propose a resolution this week condemning racism within the tea party movement.
The resolution, scheduled for a vote as early as Tuesday by delegates attending the annual NAACP convention in Kansas City, calls upon “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties, and to stand in opposition to its drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.”
NAACP leaders said the resolution was necessary to make people aware of what they believe is a racist element within the tea party movement.

Sudan’s President Charged with Genocide in Darfur

Already facing several charges from the International Criminal Court including charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, Sudan’s president Omar al-Bashir is now facing charged with three counts of Genocide. He is accused over the conflict in Sudan’s western region of Darfur, where some 300,000 people are said to have died in seven years of fighting. The ICC also states has kept 2.5 million refugees in Darfur in camps “under genocide conditions, like a gigantic Auschwitz.”
According to the BBC, the ICC first indicted him in March 2009 but he has not been arrested.
Cavs Owner Sees Lebron James as a “Runaway Slave”

Jesse Jackson says the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers sees LeBron James as a “runaway slave” and that the owner’s comments after the NBA forward decided to join the Miami Heat put the player in danger.
Shortly after James announced his decision last week, Dan Gilbert fired off an incendiary letter to Cleveland’s fans, ripping the 25-year-old and promising to deliver a title before James wins one.
He called James’ decision “cowardly” and later told The Associated Press he believes James quit during a handful of Cavaliers playoff games.
