Why Do Men Cheat? The Real Truth is Revealed!

Posted in: Funny,Lifestyle,News,Social Issues by hiphopdemocrat on July 6, 2010

In a new book “Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality.” author Christopher Ryan looks at the eternal question: Why do men, in particular middle-aged men, have affairs? Check out the answer in this excerpt from the book below.

One factor we think deserves more attention is the role of testosterone (T) in middle-aged men’s eroticism. In their twenties, men’s T levels begin a long decline, often experienced as diminished passion and appetite for life. Suppressed T levels are associated with depression, heart attacks, dementia, and overall mortality rates from 88 to 250 percent higher. One of the few things that can reliably and immediately revive a man’s sagging testosterone is exposure to a new woman. One researcher found that even a brief chat with an attractive woman raised men’s testosterone levels by fourteen percent within minutes.

According to the Huffington Post before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed, there was the Civil Rights Act of 1875. That Act, which was passed by both houses of Congress and signed into law by President Grant, was struck down by then Supreme Court, Chief Justice Joseph Bradley writing the majority opinion. And that opinion was that it was time for blacks to assume “the rank of a mere citizen” and stop being the “special favorite of the laws.”

According to the AP the U.S. Justice Department is filing a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Arizona’s tough new law targeting illegal immigrants. The planned lawsuit was confirmed to The Associated Press by a Justice Department official with knowledge of the plans. The official didn’t want to be identified before a public announcement planned for later Tuesday.

The lawsuit will argue that Arizona’s new measure requiring state and local police to question and possibly arrest illegal immigrants during the enforcement of other laws, like traffic stops, usurps federal authority.

New York City has now imposed such staggering tax hikes on tobacco that it actually costs $15 for a single pack. That’s almost a dollar per cigarette.

Smokers are used to coughing up a lot — but this is getting ridiculous.
The price on a pack of cigarettes has skyrocketed to $14.50 at some New York City stores thanks to a hefty new tax — leaving even the most nicotine-addicted buttheads considering nixing their fix.
“This is my last cigarette ever!” fumed William MacLeod, 45, of Brooklyn. “At $15 a pack, this is ridiculous. It’s a good excuse for me to quit.”
Ella Maxine, a small-business owner from Park Slope, Brooklyn, almost choked on her smokes when she had to plunk down $15 for a pack of American Spirits cigarettes at Smiler’s Deli on Fifth Avenue near 46th Street.
