Well look no further, because now your dream has come true: An enterprise called The TeaPartyBizOpp is offering “the first ever patriotic home based business opportunity” to help you think and grow rich while you restore America’s honor. Chicago Mayor Daley NOT Running for Re-Election

Posted in: News,Political by hiphopdemocrat on September 7, 2010

Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, who has presided over the nation’s third-largest city for 21 years, like his father did before him, announced Tuesday that he will not run for a seventh term, saying the time “just feels right.”

Daley, 68, said he’d been thinking about not running for several months and became comfortable with his decision over the last several weeks.

“It just feels right,” Daley said at a news conference, his smiling wife Maggie standing by his side. “I’ve always believed that every person, especially public officials, must understand when it’s time to move on. For me, that time is now.”

Donald Trump Declares War on Islam

Joining many ignorant and intolerant right-wingers, Donald Trump has taken the position that all Muslims were responsible for the World Trade Center terrorist attack. Appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman, Trump responded to a question about the non-mosque that is not at ground zero:

Letterman: Does this suggest that we are in fact officially at war with Muslims?
Trump: Well, somebody knocked down the World Trade Center. [...] Somebody’s blowing us up. Somebody’s blowing up buildings, and somebody’s doing lots of bad stuff.

Rick Sanchez referred to Barack Obama as the “cotton picking president” on CNN Monday (h/t Mediaite).

Sanchez made the comment in a discussion with CNN correspondent Jessica Yellin on “Rick’s List” about the many falsehoods that have been spread about Obama, such as the claim that he is a Muslim or that he is not a citizen of the United States. His voice rising in frustration, Sanchez asked Yellin why people continued to believe the false rumors:

The real meaning of this day historically will always be the profound and transformative address delivered by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to a quarter of a million Americans who had been denied the American dream. But Dr. King had a dream of his own

Fox News promos often tout the network as “The Most Powerful Name In News.” Now that power extends into the supernatural as FoxNews.com is caught publishing a story reviewing Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington, DC, the day before it takes place. This demonstration of journalistic clairvoyance may just be a part of the “miraculous” occurrences that Beck promised would take place at tomorrow’s historic event. However, despite the obvious scoop that Fox could claim with this pre-porting, the story was quickly removed from the site.

Hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean has a new song blasting Haitian officials for rejecting his presidential bid.

It’s the latest step in the Haitian-born musician’s campaign to be allowed to run in the November election. The 40-year-old posted the song on his blog and was promoting it Thursday via Twitter.

The song is called “Prison for the CEP,” referring to the electoral commission, whose decision he wants to overturn in court.(Huffington Post )

Build the Ground Zero Mosque!

Build the Ground Zero Mosque!
By Ronnie dixon

If you turn on the news, you’d more than likely get story after story regarding the Ground Zero “mosque.” I would like to address it myself in this article.

First off, this is not technically a “mosque”. This is a community center a couple of blocks away from Ground Zero that has many floors, with a floor or two devoted to prayer. But that, in my mind, is irrelevant. Let us assume that this is a mosque. Why does it matter? Here is my answer: it doesn’t.
