Raekwon & Vevo Team Up For New Vevo Footnotes, For Ice Cream Music Video

To help celebrate Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop. Vevo has recently teamed up with several legendary emcees for its Vevo Footnotes series. To go behind classic music videos from each artist and today for its latest installment it has teamed up with living legend and icon, Raekwon. Of the just as legendary groundbreaking group, Wu-Tang Clan.

Raekwon and his team taking his fans behind the scenes of his iconic music video for his classic groundbreaking single, Ice Cream. That features fellow Wu members Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Cappadonna. With Rae telling the importance of the song in celebrating women in hip-hop and showcasing the diversity of beauty in its music video. While director Ralph McDaniels tells about the challenges of crowd control he faced after word spread quickly about the group shooting the video in Jamaica, Queens and with it also being the first music video he shot. Raekwon’s manager, Rashida Walter, also noting how the video influenced Hip-Hop fashion culture as we know it today and the song itself creatively shook up the genre forever with its very melodious storytelling and hook to go with the very innovative beat from the RZA.
