Terrace Martin Drops Funky New Single, Chucks feat. Channel Tres

It has been awhile since we heard new music from very talented producer, saxophonist, singer, as well as multi-instrumentalists, Terrace Martin. Who is currently up for a GRAMMY for his most recent critically-acclaimed solo album, DRONES. At this coming Sunday’s 65th Annual Grammy Awards. That are being held in his hometown of Los Angeles, California.

That all changes today. As Martin releases his very funky new single, Chucks. That features fellow Los Angeles-area native, Channel Tres. The unlikely pairing finding Tres over Martin’s funky groovy production and sax reminiscing about what it was like growing up in the L.A. area. That common ground resulting in a very amazing new single from both artists. Which is why, Chucks, is the perfect name for the single too. With the importance of the popular shoe to the streets of L.A. and the city as a whole.

Martin himself having the following to say in a statement about the new single, ” The song ‘Chucks’ is a sonic picture that represents New Los Angeles. The driving pulse of the song represents the tempo of traffic, the bass line is the attitude of a true Angeleno, the space that Channel commands with his vocals closely relates to the motion of water. At the end of the day it’s goin’ to make you move and feel good about being alive.”
