Apollo Brown & Philmore Greene Debut Beautifully Cinematic New Video, Day On The Ave

Nearly a month after Apollo Brown and Philmore Greene released their mostly critically-acclaimed collaboration album, Cost of Living. The duo have returned to the album with the second video from the project. In the Will Gates-directed video for, Day on the Ave. Which they debuted earlier today.

One of several highlights from the album. That contains some of Greene’s most vivid rhymes on the album too. You would think the video would be a little more vivid than it is. But the beautifully cinematic visual is still a really great one though. That starts out on the ave in Greene’s hometown of Chicago with a teenager selling crack, before a dice game breaks out as he describes in his lyrics. Greene is also seen in the background performing the track. While that same teenager also later by gun hold up, robs someone else walking by of their jewelry. Then eventually hitting up a barbershop hustling that same jewelry he just stole. Greene and Brown are also shown in a back alleyway throughout the visual as the Chicago emcee performs his vivid rhymes. With the twist-turning ending to the video that shows how the cycle just continues from one generation to the next. Really helping brings Greene’s lyrics about hustling to life in a rather brilliant way. That most all of us. Whether you dealt drugs or not, can still all relate to.
