Apollo Brown & Philmore Greene Debut New Video/Single, Steep Life

As the calendar flips to November and we inch closer to Apollo Brown and Philmore Greene’s highly-anticipated new album, Cost of Living, release date of, Nov. 15th. The legendary producer and Chicago emcee connect for what is already the album’s third single, Steep Life. Which follows previously singles, Paradise and Time Goes.

The newest single from the duo finding Brown providing the perfect jazzy boom-bap production. That has a very perfectly placed sample of Chicago Hip-Hop legend and pioneer Common on the hook. As Greene provides some very stellar vivid bars about what it’s like to grow up in the inner city communities and concrete jungles of such a hard as nails city as Chicago. Plus despite it like most who grew up in Chicago or the surrounding areas. Their loyalty and pride always to the city. Which is heard in lyrics such as, ”The only peace we ever get was after resting. Let’s create leaders and moguls. No more cell mates, we need more best men. Holy matrimony, better get your ratchet homie. I rep the Chi, as if I got it tatted on me. It showed me everything from a birth to a murder scene.”

Greene and Brown also along with the new single. Debuting a new Will Gates-directed accompanying video for the track. That is also the first visual from the album and sees Greene showing Brown around his hometown streets. As well as clips from police stoppages in Chicago. To bring Greene’s raw and real life lyrics about Chicago even more to life.
