DJ Premier Celebrates Hip-Hop’s Birthday With Debut Of New Video, Remy Rap feat. Remy Ma & Rapsody, Which Pays Homage To The 90’s

Today in celebration of Hip-Hop’s 49th birthday. DJ Premier debuts the new Maya Table-directed video, Remy Rap. That is also the first video from Premier’s recently released EP, Hip Hop 50: Vol. 1. That features five collaboration’s with the likes of Nas, Lil Wayne, Run the Jewels, Slick Rick, Joey Bada$$ and of course the collaboration with Remy Ma and Rapsody. For which the new video was just released.

The new video paying homage to classic 90’s Hip-Hop. Seeing Remy and Rap in their classic throwback 90’s gear. From their throwback jersey’s down to the Cuban Link chains and bucket hats. To go with their very fly jewelry. As from inner city New York City rooftops they spit their stellar raps. While also conducting their own photoshoot and Preemo scratches on the 1’s and 2’s. The grainy black and white footage for part of the video. Also harkening back to classic early 90’s Hip-Hop. With the way a lot of video’s were shot.

The new EP not only has Preemo’s classic sound, but also sets the stage. For the other 10 highly anticipated Mass Appeal, Hip Hop 50: The Soundtrack releases. That is a collection of ten EPs of all-new music from the likes of Swizz Beatz, DJ Mustard, The-Dream, Mike WiLL Made-It, No I.D., Hit-Boy, Take A Daytrip and Tainy. That will be released leading up to Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary. Exactly a year from now.

Hip Hop 50: The Soundtrack, also acknowledges the past while paving the way for the future. With a portion of all #HipHop50 proceeds being donated to various charitable organizations, including the Universal Hip Hop Museum. That is set to open its doors in 2024.
