J. Cole Drops Cinematic New Video, amari

Fresh off the release of his highly-anticipated latest album, The Off-Season. J. Cole returns today with the debut of the very cinematic new Mez for Heirs-directed video for, amari.

One of the most standout tracks on the album and named after his manager Ibrahim “IB” Hamad’s son. This is the first visual from the album and sees Cole returning to the Hip-Hop Mecca of New York. Opening with a Dreamville helicopter flying overhead, as he opens with his furious flow and bars. It then transitions into a series of eye-catching shots. That sees Cole mobbing with his crew in the projects. Before dappering up in a suit and fedora with members of his Dreamville Records label/crew.

The very cinematic new visual. Also sees Cole controlling that same Dreamville helicopter from a city skyline. Setting a phone-booth on fire and enjoying ramen noodles with a fine young woman in his college dorm room. That’s lined full of plaques on the wall. The ending of the clip a real cliffhanger you have to see and watch till the end to believe.
