Andra Day Releases New Single, Phone Dies

GRAMMY Award-nominated singer and songwriter, as well as activist and actress, Andra Day. Who recently won a Golden Globe for Best Actress for her very brilliant portrayal of legendary late singer, Billie Holiday, in, The United States vs. Billie Holiday. As well as being nominated in that same category and movie for the highly-anticipated upcoming 2021 Oscars broadcast on April 25th on ABC.

Has obviously already had quite the stellar 2021. Just three and a half months into the new year. Day doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon either. As it appears she may even be releasing her as yet untitled highly-anticipated sophomore solo album. Sometime this year too.

Day releasing today her newest single, Phone Dies. Which is a lot different from the more powerful and anthemic type records we are used to hearing from the singer. Phone Dies, which is produced by another fellow great artist in multi-Grammy Awards-winning singer and songwriter, as well as producer and multi-instrumentalist, Anderson .Paak. Is a record that’s more of a feel-good one that you can just really vibe to. With Day giving a more softer tone in her vocals than we are used to over the very piano, drums and other multi-instruments from Paak in the production. Just a very beautifully vibey song and record that you can really enjoy.

The new record also really showing that despite what most may think. Day isn’t just all powerful and anthemic type songs. She does have the range and versatility to do other great songs from a more toned down and feel-good perspective as well.
