GRAMMY Award-nominated singer and songwriter, as well as activist and actress, Andra Day is easily one of the best voices of this generation. So it should be no surprise that the singer yesterday released a very stunning and impressively impassioned cover of late great Jazz and Swing singer, Billie Holiday’s all-time classic single, All of Me. That will be featured in the upcoming highly-anticipated motion picture movie, The United States vs. Billie Holiday. An upcoming biopic centering on the late great singer, which will debut as a Hulu Original film on February 26th.

The single will be featured on the film’s forthcoming soundtrack. That is being released by Day’s label Warner Records. With the very talented singer also making her motion picture acting debut as Holiday in the film.

The movie shedding light on the innovative vocalist’s embattled years as a target of the F.B.I. The unit who sought to imprison Holiday on drug charges. A retaliatory action given her dedication to singing highly politicized songs like “Strange Fruit” and her efforts to integrate her audiences. In the upcoming film, directed by Lee Daniels and written by Suzan-Lori Parks, Day stars alongside Moonlight lead, Trevante Rhodes.

According to a press release, the new single is just the beginning in what’s set to be a big 2021 for the three-time GRAMMYs-nominated singer. In which Day is set to be honored at the Critics Choice Association’s third annual Celebration of Black Cinema on February 2nd for her work in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, and has already helped her be featured on the cover of V Magazine. Already receiving an outpouring of critical acclaim, the film appears in TIME Magazine’s “Most Anticipated Movies of 2021” list, and Andra Day is featured in Variety Magazine’s 2021 Oscars predictions for “Best Actress.”
