DaniLeigh has been a hot commodity at Def Jam Recordings. Ever since signing with the label back in 2017 and releasing her debut project. With her first EP, Summer with Friends. Not long after signing with Def Jam. Her first successful single being, Play. That was featured on that EP. As well as the very fun and lighthearted video for the record, All Day. That was also featured on said EP.
It was Dani’s 2018 hit single, Lil Bebe. That really catapulted her into superstardom. Her highly-anticipated debut album, The Plan, released in November of that year. Just a few months after the huge success of Lil Bebe. Dani would continue to release several videos from the album throughout 2019. That included a remixed version of one of the albums best records, Easy. The new remixed version featuring R&B superstar Chris Brown. That she would release a very dance centered accompanying video for weeks later.
If people still doubted Dani being a superstar. The Easy Remix along with its video. Proved that DaniLeigh not only had a great ability to make hit records, but was here to stay for the long haul. As a true superstar singer and performer. With fans clamoring for a followup sophomore album to very high anticipation after she announced mid-2019. It would likely be released in third or fourth quarter of that year. Dani would release her single, Cravin featuring G-Eazy in October.
2019 would pass with still no album, but a surprise EP. Entitled, My Present. That was released on Dani’s 25th birthday on Dec. 20th. Going into 2020 and the first year of the new decade. Dani looked to have a very promising year ahead. But like so many other artists and entertainers that was halted by the worldwide lockdowns that was due to the coronavirus pandemic. Dani releasing her single, Levi High, around the same time most of the lockdowns were announced or starting to be put in place. Not releasing much since than. Most fans were worried Dani would not release the album this year.
While that changes today. As exactly eight months after releasing Levi High. Both ironically being a rare two times in a year, Friday the 13th occurrence. DaniLeigh has released her highly-anticipated sophomore album, MOVIE. That is also a visual album as well. That you can watch below.
