Brandy, Erykah Badu, Teyana Taylor & H.E.R. Steal The Show w/ Ladies First BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher

Tuesday night the ladies of R&B stole the show for the 2020 BET Hip-Hop Awards. Delivering a Ladies First Cypher that was previously recorded, but aired for the airing of the show on Tuesday, Oct. 27th.

The cypher seen R&B/Soul legend Badu behind the turntables, as the all-female cypher of Badu, Brandy, Teyana Taylor and H.E.R. Was set to fellow R&B/Soul legend Brandy’s classic, I Wanna Be Down (Remix). Taylor going in to open, before H.E.R. delivered easily the most smoothest and best verses. Touching on everything from her being the first female artist to start a festival. To paying homage to her Filipino roots and homage to Breonna Taylor as well.

After the two more recently new artists Taylor and H.E.R. It was time for the legends, Badu and Brandy to go. Badu with boxing gloves hanging from her neck delivering some pretty solid bars. Before Brandy with her rap alter ego, Bran’Nu. Closed out spitting some powerful words about climate change, Black pride, and God. Putting a crown on her head to end the cypher. That was the perfect symbolism to end a cypher with four beautiful and talented black queens.
