Joyner Lucas & Ashanti Fall Slowly For Each Other, In Intimate New Video, For New Single

Joyner Lucas has slowly risen up the ranks as one of the best upcoming emcees in all of Hip-Hop over the past several years. Releasing his very highly-anticipated and long-delayed sophomore album, ADHD, earlier this year.

Lucas looks to be making up for lost time. As barely a little over five months after releasing ADHD, the Worcester, MA-based emcee is already set to release a new project. With his sure to be very anticipated new EP, EVOLUTION. That’s set for a Sept. 18th release date.

As we are now into the beginning of September and the release date slowly approaches too. Lucas is gearing fans up with the release of his lead single from the EP, Fall Slowly. A very lovers and intimate type record that shows Lucas versatility as not only an emcee, but artist. That features legendary singer and songwriter, Ashanti. With the record more of a duet than anything between the two. As Lucas raps/sings about how infatuated in love he is.

The accompanying new video, which he also premiered today. Is one that, like many of Lucas previous visuals. Finds him once again teaming with his longtime collaborator, Ben Proulx, who again co-directed the video with Lucas.

The very intimate new visual finding Lucas and Ashanti falling slowly for one another. As they play an inseparable couple involved in a toxic relationship. That sees them getting very intimate and kissing, as well as making out in some very steamy scenes. Showing their undeniable loving chemistry.

Lucas and Ashanti’s love is also very toxic though and one that isn’t really good for one another. As you can tell from Lucas lyrics of, “I love you more than I love myself. If I weren’t with you I can’t picture myself with someone else. And every time we separate it’s like we under spells. ‘Cause when we hurt each other we come back to help each other heal. You say I’m crazy, but at least you know my love is real. But shit, you crazy too, and that’s why they say love is hell.” Lucas being arrested in one scene. For what appears to be domestic abuse in the visual, as well as Ashanti finding out she’s pregnant. Showing all the different ups and downs, both good and bad a couple can go through in a relationship. Whether toxic or not.
