Black Thought Brings The Morning Heat On New Single, Good Morning ft. Pusha T, Killer Mike & Swizz Beatz

Legendary emcee and frontmen of multi-platinum and legendary Hip-Hop band/group, The Roots. Black Thought was set to release his debut solo album. The highly-anticipated, Streams of Thought Vol. 3: Cane & Able. Back on July 31st, but due to the untimely and unfortunate passing of former Roots member, Malik B., just two days before release. The Roots co-founder decided to put the album on hold.

While now it appears Black Thought is ready to release the album. With a new release date of Sept. 18th. The album is also Thought’s first major label release as a solo artist. As he announced his signing with Republic Records just last week.

To hold fans over till then, the Philadelphia emcee today released one of the albums most anticipated tracks, Good Morning. A very powerfully soulful and drum-driven Sean C-produced track. That finds Thought teaming with Hip-Hop heavyweights Pusha T, Killer Mike & Swizz Beatz. As all three emcees show why they are not only some of the illest emcees now, but ever. While Swizz provides the hook for the very hard-hitting and thumping new single.

Mike providing such quotables as, “Just as soon as the sun rise, the night dies. You was building pyramids and African empires. Where pale-skin savages with straight hair and light eyes. Was still eatin’ raw meat and barely could light fires. Before we ever sold cocaine, we civilized Spain. You are not the first black man in the Mediterrane.” For what’s easily not only the best verse on the track, but arguably one of the best verses laid on a track this year.
