After a bit of a hiatus from releasing anything solo material wise, one of my favorite rising singer and songwriters to emerge about three years ago, Joyce Wrice. Finally returned last May with her first new single in awhile, Blurred Lines. That was well worth the wait. Many, myself included where rightfully very excited and thought that the Los Angeles area native would be releasing a lot more solo material again more often. Unfortunately she would not, but would add such beautiful and amazing features singing the hooks for records on Westside Gunn’s recent album, Pray for Paris and the Free Nationals self-titled debut album. Lucky for us fans, whatever it is about the month of May, Wrice, seems to love or it just so happens that for now two years in a row. She has released new music during May. As today she released her very beautifully smooth Austin D. Brown-produced new single, That’s On You. Which once again shows off her very beautifully smooth and angelic vocals. For yet another very beautifully smooth and amazing record that’s hopefully one of many to come from the singer. Perhaps even the right jumpstart to Wrice finally releasing a new album too.
