Westside Gunn Releases Highly-Anticipated New & Biggest Album To Date, Pray For Paris

Westside Gunn releases his highly-anticipated and biggest album to date, Pray For Paris.  The latest from the Griselda Records head and founder is by far his biggest album to date that continues to show why Griselda is currently the best label and crew.  That has a real stranglehold on the Hip-Hop/Rap game not only now, but for the past several years.  As it follows his fellow Griselda crew/ label mate Conway the Machine’s recently released collaboration EP with The Alchemist, LULU.  That was released just a few weeks ago at the end of March and Griselda’s major label debut with Shady Records, W.W.C.D., released just last November.

The album itself not only featuring his fellow Griselda artists and crew/label mates, Conway and Benny the Butcher.  But the 13-track offering also featuring Tyler, the Creator, Joey Bada$$, Wale, Joyce Wrice, Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marciano, Boldy James, Billie Essco, Keisha Plum and Cartier A Williams.  With production from frequent collaborators The Alchemist, Daringer and DJ Muggs.  As well as Jay Versace and for the first time, the legendary DJ Premier, among several others.

As you can probably guess from the title of the album, it was inspired by the city of Paris and it being Gunn’s first time out of the country.  He recorded the album in just two days in Paris, the album not even at all planned before Virgil Abloh invited Gunn to the country for his Off-White fashion show.  The creative relationship built between Gunn and Virgil being taken a step further as the powerhouse designer helped design the album art.  Making use of Caravaggio’s painting David with the Head of Goliath mashed with Virgil’s aesthetic it represents Gunn’s path within the industry.  All that said you can listen to the very highly-anticipated new album below.
